How much FLAX emulsion do I need?
Linseed oil emulsion for protecting concrete surfaces. Protects surfaces from frost and salt and extends the life of concrete up to 3 times.
Linseed oil emulsion is a hydrophobic impregnation product used to treat concrete pavements, areas paved with concrete interlocking or composite paving, concrete fences or walls. The spray reduces the crumbling of concrete due to repeated exposure to frost and protects the concrete from the undesirable effects of de-icing salt that you bring to your sidewalk or paved area in front of the garage on the wheels of your vehicle.

The efficiency determined as the ratio of treated and untreated concrete was monitored by testing the resistance of surfaces to the combined effects of freezing and de-icing salts on laboratory specimens according to ČSN 73 1326, method A. This test methodology measures the total mass of surface debris achieved after repeated 25 freezing cycles in the KD-20 apparatus.
The following efficiencies were statistically measured after treatment with linseed oil emulsion:
Waste from untreated body Waste after emulsion application Application efficiency
0 0 -
less than 1000 g/m2 less than 50 g/m2 more than 95%
less than 5000 g/m2 less than 500 g/m2 more than 90%
We recommend applying linseed oil emulsion before the first winter. Application is not recommended on concrete that has already completely decomposed.
