The purpose of the methodology is to summarize and comment on the most common risk factors that emerged from the below-described surveys of the behavior of road users at railroad crossings and accident analyses, and to offer measures to eliminate or mitigate illegal behavior. At the same time, the effort to preferentially use measures for infrastructure managers is economically available, which are mainly a matter of the necessary know-how. In particular, it concerns the addition of new or hitherto non-traditional elements of horizontal road markings, the possibilities of which have so far been greatly underestimated and thus offer a large reserve for the benefit of traffic safety.
