This publication, dedicated to the issue of unauthorized pedestrian access to railway tracks, aims to describe this dangerous phenomenon from various perspectives and offer feasible solutions for its prevention. Based on the results of many years of research by the author team, the book provides an overview of knowledge on so-called railway trespassing in the Czech Republic, set within the context of international studies. Unauthorized entries to railway tracks and their consequences, i.e., collisions of individuals with railway vehicles, are described in terms of their occurrence and the circumstances contributing to their origin. The influence of changes in land use on the creation of risk locations is emphasized, and user attitudes are analyzed. A part of the publication focuses on possibilities for preventive and corrective measures.
