A fundamental problem in assessing the contribution of traffic to air pollution in small settlements is the economic complexity of the measurements, which would have to be carried out over a large area of land, in scattered locations with often relatively sparse population. Therefore, this methodology was developed describing the most suitable procedures for determining the evaluation of all municipalities of a similar type based on traffic models based on dispersion studies and the results of real measurements.

The methodology serves to use the results of measuring air quality, traffic intensity and meteorological conditions to evaluate all municipalities of a similar type based on traffic models based on dispersion studies and the results of real measurements. The resulting model was processed for nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) and solid particles (PM10, PM2.5) in different types of buildings. It is easily expandable for other pollutants as well.
