The publication summarizes the results and strategic shift achieved within the framework of the Post-Accident Care project (reg. no. CZ.03.03.01/00/23_057/0004564). The project was initiated as a logical outcome of previous research activities (especially the KOMPLEX project) with the primary goal of identifying and verifying solutions that will lead to a reduction in the level of psychological traumatization of people after traffic accidents and to an improvement in psychosocial care in the Czech Republic. In accordance with the assignment, Human-Centered Design principles were followed in the search for solutions. The application of this approach made it possible to move beyond expert assumptions and to draw directly from the authentic experience and lived reality of affected individuals. As a result, in the analytical phase, it was identified that the overall psychological burden does not stem exclusively from the traumatic event itself, but is significantly shaped by the phenomenon of secondary traumatization. We found that the existing care system, although medically advanced, exhibits characteristics of an impersonal approach and lack of clarity at the psychosocial and administrative levels, which can lead to client paralysis. The research proved that the priority need of the target group is not passive information, but a human approach, orientation, and respect.
