The presented methodology aims to contribute to the stability of the accompanying stands, which will better withstand the upcoming climate changes. The main goal is to establish principles and procedures for the management of greenery in the vicinity of railway transport routes and to reduce the risk of trees falling onto the track area.

Together with the stability, other important social functions of the accompanying vegetation of railway lines must be preserved. The methodology is primarily intended for the Railway Administration, it can also be used by the owners of stands on adjacent land as a guide to the proper management of vegetation growing along the railway.
