Methodology for assessing the impact of road infrastructure on safety
Methodology for assessing the impact of road infrastructure on safety
The methodology presents the theoretical and practical application of a modern approach to road infrastructure safety impact assessment (RSIA). It is the final output of the DOPAD project (Development of supporting tools for assessing the impact of road infrastructure on safety) and draws on research and experience gained during its implementation. The project was implemented in the period 2016 – 2017 by the Transport Research Center, vvi (CDV) with the support of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic as part of the Omega Program (ID no. TD03000171). The methodology is primarily intended to serve as a practical guide, so it does not contain, for example, a detailed description of the development of accident rate prediction models or measures' effectiveness values. This information is available in other CDV methodologies, listed in the bibliography (chapter VI). Additional data can also be found in continuously published outputs, which are listed in the bibliography and are also available on the project website https://dopad.cdvinfo.cz/. The website will continue to serve as a continuously updated and supplemented information source. A supporting computing application is also available on the website.
