Methodology of a complex analysis of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian
Methodology of a complex analysis of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian
The aim of the methodology is to analyze the entire mechanism of a traffic accident (TC) between a vehicle and a pedestrian so that in the future it will be possible to propose a new approach to pedestrian protection including pedestrian protection not only during the primary collision between the pedestrian and the vehicle, but also the protection of the pedestrian during the secondary collision. The main part of the methodology is focused on the expansion and refinement of the methodology of investigating DN with a pedestrian.
The second part of the Methodology is dedicated to the numerical analysis of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian, which is intended to help map the mechanism of DN and thus provide the basis for designing a new approach to pedestrian protection. The text describes the methods that can be used to identify the necessary quantities to reconstruct the accident. In the sample reports of the investigative team from the DN site, an analysis of the DN participant and his characterization is provided. The solution procedure at the scene of the accident with examples of a real accident investigation is given in the Appendix of the Methodology.
