The goal of the methodology is to contribute to reducing the number of traffic accidents in cities and towns, especially accidents involving pedestrians and cyclists, who often suffer serious or even fatal injuries. The methodology for designing flexible regulation posts is a publication aimed at supporting the installation of flexible or otherwise known as accent posts (hereinafter referred to as posts) in the main traffic area of roads in built-up areas of cities and municipalities.

The primary purpose of the methodology is to establish the procedure and conditions for placing these posts. The undeniable benefit is the provision of illustrative examples of the use of bollards not only to designers and traffic engineers, but also to administrators and investors in the construction of roads and other paved areas intended for the movement of pedestrians and cyclists.
